Earlier fixes late subtitles. Later delays subtitles that appear too soon.
Check the first and last timestamps before applying the offset.
Negative timestamps are blocked. Your original file stays available.
A fixed offset moves every cue by the same number of milliseconds and preserves duration. Earlier fixes late subtitles; later delays subtitles that appear too soon. This does not fix drift or align subtitles to audio.

A subtitle offset adds the same time difference to every cue’s start and end. Use it when subtitles are consistently early or late throughout a video. It preserves cue duration and does not correct a delay that grows over time.

Good work starts with a clear brief. If the words appear before the corresponding speech, move them later. If they appear after the speech, move them earlier. A later offset of 1.500 seconds moves 00:00:01.200 to 00:00:02.700.
Use Media preview to open the matching local video and compare dialogue near its beginning, middle and end. CueRefine plays supported media in your browser; you measure the offset yourself, without automatic speech alignment.
Preview the offset, apply it, and download the saved version. Applying another offset adds another change to the saved timestamps. Use undo if you applied too much. Switching tools does not require applying the same offset again.
An offset that would move any cue before zero is blocked as a whole. CueRefine does not clip negative times or silently drop early cues.
One fixed offset cannot correct growing drift. The workspace also offers More subtitle tools → Two-point synchronization, which scales timing using two manually matched moments. Verify a third point and any scene cuts before keeping that correction.
No. The same offset is added to both endpoints, so each cue keeps its duration.
Files with X-TIMESTAMP-MAP or inline cue timestamps are blocked for shifting. Use a workflow that understands those additional timing references.
Product instructions describe CueRefine’s implemented controls and verified examples. External format references explain the source syntax; they do not imply that every format feature is supported.
